Credits & AI usage
How Numen meters AI features with credits — what each action costs, where to check your balance, and how to top up.
Numen's AI features run on credits. Each time an agent or the chat does AI work for you — answering a question, analyzing a file, generating a widget — it spends a set number of credits. Everyday work that isn't AI — viewing dashboards, editing a budget, recording a journal — doesn't. Check your balance and usage any time under Account → Settings → AI usage.
What uses credits
Each AI action costs a fixed number of credits. Here's what each one uses, and roughly how many times you could run it on a 100,000-credit pack.

Check your balance and usage
Your credit balance and a breakdown of recent usage live in your account settings.
- 1Open the Account menu (top of the sidebar or your profile).
- 2Go to Settings → AI usage.
- 3Review your current balance, recent consumption by feature, and top up when you need more.
Topping up
Credits are pay-as-you-go — buy only what you need. Credits are $2.50 per 1,000 ($2 at higher volume), so the recommended pack is 100,000 credits ($250). Prices below are in USD and billed in USD; for your plan or region, see the pricing page or .

How far 100,000 credits goes
For most teams, 100,000 credits is very generous — about 500 AI chat queries, or roughly 16 a day for a month. Here are a few example usage patterns and what each one leaves you with.

Common questions
Does everything I do cost credits?
No — only the AI actions in the table above. Recording entries, editing budgets, viewing reports, uploading data, and exporting don't use credits.
What happens if I run out of credits?
AI actions pause until you top up. Your data and everyday, non-AI work — bookkeeping, planning, viewing — keep working as normal.
How do I estimate what I'll need?
Most teams stay well within 100,000 credits. Start with the recommended pack, watch your usage under Settings → AI usage, and top up when you get low.
