Frequently asked questions
Straight answers for first-time users new to agentic AI in finance.
Do I have to replace my current ERP to use Numen?
No. Most teams start with Numen Plan: upload a ledger export from your existing ERP and get analysis, KPIs, and forecasts right away — nothing to migrate. You add Numen Books later, only when you need bookkeeping, close, or cost management.
Numen is designed to sit alongside what you already run — not to rip and replace it on day one.
Where do the numbers come from — can I trust the AI?
Reported figures come from a rule-based, audit-ready engine, not from a language model guessing. Every metric is defined in a widget — click any number and you see the calculation logic and the source rows behind it. Forecasts and scenarios are estimates — and you can see which model produced them, review the assumptions, and adjust them yourself.
How am I charged for AI usage — what are credits?
Numen's AI features run on credits: each AI action (a chat query, a file analysis, a generated widget) spends a set number. Non-AI work — recording entries, editing budgets, viewing reports — is free. Check your balance under Account → Settings → AI usage. See Credits & AI usage for the full cost table and top-up options.
What's the difference between Plan and Books?
Plan is FP&A — planning, analysis, forecasting, and reporting on top of a ledger. Books is the ERP that produces that ledger — bookkeeping, close, inventory, and cost. See Plan vs Books for a full breakdown.
When can I use Numen Books?
Books is launching soon. The Books guides in this help center are a preview of what's coming, and their menu entries stay inactive until launch. Start with Plan today — when Books opens, entry is 3 months free.
How do I add an agent?
Open the Agents catalog from the sidebar, then either pick a library agent or choose Custom and describe what you need in plain language. Learn more about agents.
How do I change the period or the entity I'm looking at?
Use the context filters in the canvas header. The period selector changes the reporting window; the entity switcher changes which entity you're viewing. Both apply to every widget on the canvas at once. See Data periods & versions.
Can I export my analysis or reports?
Yes. Set up an external share link to share a canvas instantly with people outside your team, or save its layout as a template so you can reuse the same set of widgets and settings for the next period or another entity.
Is Numen available in Korean and English?
Yes. Toggle the locale in the top navigation. The entire product — and this help center — is fully bilingual, so you can switch at any time without losing your place.
How does the AI chat know about my data?
The chat reads your uploaded ledger and any connected data. When it answers, it shows a reasoning trace and cites the tables and rules it used, so you can verify the answer instead of taking it on faith. See AI chat.
Do I need to finish onboarding before using Books?
Yes. Books needs your company info and an opening balance sheet before it can keep books accurately. It's a short guided setup — see Books onboardingComing soon.
What is an "agent," really?
An agent is a focused workbench that owns one finance job and works it for you. Agentic AI 101 explains the idea from the ground up.
