Numen Plan vs Numen Books
A quick decision guide: which module to start with, and how they work together.
Numen has two modules. You can use either on its own or both together. This page helps you pick where to start.
Side by side
| Aspect | Numen Plan (FP&A) | Numen Books (ERP) |
|---|---|---|
| Purpose | Plan, analyze, forecast, report | Record transactions and close the books |
| You bring | A general ledger export (or existing data) | Company info + opening balance sheet |
| You get | Analysis, budgets, forecasts, what-if scenarios | Journal entries, inventory, product cost, payroll |
| Typical user | FP&A, finance managers, controllers, CFOs | Accounting, operations, production teams |
| When to start | First — fastest path to value | Later — when you need bookkeeping or costing |
How they connect
Plan analyzes; Books produces. Books generates the bookkeeping and product-cost data, and Plan consumes it for analysis, budgets, and forecasts. Run them together and your analysis is fed directly by your live records — no exporting and re-uploading.
Tip
Most teams start with Plan because it needs only a ledger file — no system migration. Bring in Books once you want product cost, inventory, or a full close inside Numen.
