Anomaly Detection

AI monitors your ledger for unusual items, ranks them by severity, and helps you investigate and resolve each one — with configurable threshold rules.

Anomaly Detection puts an AI watchdog on your ledger. It scans for unusual items — a spike, a sign flip, a figure far outside its normal range — grades each one Critical, Caution, or Reference, and runs a simple workflow: the Dashboard shows what needs attention, Open lists every unresolved finding, and resolved items move to Resolved/Dismissed. You tune the rules; Numen does the watching.

A scan result: findings ranked by severity. On Free, item details are blurred — Standard unlocks the full list.

What you can do

  • Read the Dashboard at a glance — Critical / Caution / Reference counts, the items needing immediate action, a severity distribution, and findings per detection rule.
  • Work the Open list — every unresolved finding with its account, the rule that fired, and a plain-language AI explanation; filter by severity or rule, or search.
  • Click any finding for the detail panel — situation summary, the evidence data (current vs. prior month, deviation multiple), an AI recommendation, and the actual GL entries found, each confirmable or excludable.
  • Close items with a workflow — leave a note, then mark Investigating, Dismiss, or Resolve; resolved and dismissed items move to the Resolved/Dismissed tab.
  • Tune the rules and re-run any time — open Rule settings to adjust thresholds or add AI-interpreted rules of your own, then hit Re-run detection. Rulesets are versioned in Management Rules.

CriticalNeeds immediate action.
CautionReview recommended.
ReferenceTrend monitoring — keep an eye on it.

How to investigate an anomaly

  1. 1Start on the Dashboard — the items under "needs immediate action" come first.
  2. 2Move to the Open tab and narrow the list with the severity and rule filters, or search.
  3. 3Click a finding to open its detail: read the summary and evidence data, check the AI recommendation, and go through the GL entries found — confirm or exclude each one.
  4. 4Leave a note, then choose Investigating, Dismiss, or Resolve — closed items move to Resolved/Dismissed.
  5. 5Too noisy or too quiet? Open Rule settings, adjust thresholds or add your own rule, and press Re-run detection.
Tip
Severity is your triage guide: work Critical first, review Caution in your close routine, and skim Reference for trends. Rule changes apply on the next Re-run detection — no waiting.
