Divisional Budgets

Independent budgets per division or site, with per-owner edit permissions and automatic common-cost allocation — the same planning UI, scoped to a division.

Divisional Budgets gives each division or site its own budget, owned and edited by the people who run it. It's the same planning UI as Budget Planning, just scoped to one division — so the experience is familiar, while the numbers and permissions stay local.

What you can do

  • Give each division or site its own budget sheet, planned independently of the corporate budget.
  • Set per-owner edit permissions so only the division's owner can change its numbers.
  • Let common-cost allocations reflect automatically, using the rules defined in Management Rules.
  • Keep a version timeline separate from the corporate budget, so divisions revise on their own cadence.

How to set up a divisional budget

  1. 1Open Divisional Budgets and select the division or site you want to plan for.
  2. 2Assign the owner for that division and set their edit permissions.
  3. 3Plan the budget with the same spreadsheet, grid, cost-behavior, and scenario tools as Budget Planning.
  4. 4Confirm that allocated common costs appear correctly — they flow in automatically from your allocation rules.
  5. 5Track revisions on the division's own version timeline, independent of the corporate roll-up.
Note
Common costs aren't entered here — they flow in from your allocation rules. If a division's overhead looks wrong, check the rule, not the sheet.
Tip
Per-owner permissions let divisions plan in parallel without stepping on each other. Corporate still sees the roll-up, but only owners edit their own sheet.
