GL Data
Bring your general ledger into Numen and turn it into a clean, mapped data foundation for every Plan agent.
GL Data is where Numen Plan gets its numbers. You upload your general ledger — an Excel or CSV export from any ERP — and it becomes a mapped, validated dataset that every other Plan agent reads from. It's usually the first agent you set up, because clean data here is what makes everything downstream trustworthy.

What you can do
- Upload a general ledger from Excel or CSV — an export from any ERP works.
- Let the AI handle automatic account mapping — classifying your chart of accounts against a standard (AICPA-based) structure. Fix any match by asking the chat ("move account OOO to XX") or by editing directly in the Account mapping tab.
- Let Numen learn your customers and divisions as reusable analysis dimensions.
- Check the Quality summary — upload counts, mapping rate, debit = credit balance, and dimension coverage on one screen.
- Browse the ledger line by line, and read the financial statements built straight from your upload — trial balance, balance sheet, and income statement.
How to load your first ledger
- 1Open GL Data from the Agents sidebar, then confirm the data period and entity at the top so the import lands in the right context.
- 2Upload your Excel/CSV export (from any ERP) — later re-uploads live in the Upload history tab.
- 3Open the Quality summary and scan the four cards — files uploaded, mapping rate, debit = credit balance, dimension coverage — plus the data-quality checklist.
- 4Fix any mis-mapped account: ask the chat — "move account OOO to XX" — or edit it directly in the Account mapping tab.
- 5Check Customers & divisions to confirm the dimensions Numen learned from your ledger.
- 6Verified means ready. Once you've checked everything in this agent — the mapping, debits = credits, the ledger view, the statements — your ledger is ready for FP&A Analysis and every other Plan agent.
Note
Numen is upload-first — most teams simply re-upload each period's export. If you'd rather connect your ERP directly by API, just ask our team and we'll set it up.
Getting around the tabs
| Tab | What it's for |
|---|---|
| Quality summary | The health of your data at a glance — files uploaded, mapping rate, debit = credit balance, dimension coverage, and a data-quality checklist. |
| Upload history | Every import, when it ran, and whether it succeeded. |
| Account mapping | How each account was classified (AICPA-based) — edit any match directly here. |
| Customers & divisions | The customers and divisions Numen learned as analysis dimensions. |
| Ledger view | The line-level ledger itself, filterable by period and dimension. |
| Trial balance | A movement-and-balance trial balance built from your upload. |
| Balance sheet | A balance sheet built straight from the mapped ledger. |
| Income statement | An income statement built straight from the mapped ledger. |
Note
The AI's automatic mapping is for your verification — it classifies against an AICPA-based standard, which may differ from your company's official statements. Adjust any match by asking the chat ("move account OOO to XX") or editing the Account mapping tab.
Tip
Every reported actual Numen shows is rule-based and traceable back to a source row — computed from your data, not generated. If a figure looks wrong, follow it back through Ledger view to the original entry. Forecasts and scenarios are modeled estimates, labeled separately.
Note
Mapping and dimension learning improve as you use them. Corrections you make are remembered, so the next import needs less cleanup.
