Accounting
AI-assisted journaling, a real-time trial balance, depreciation, and a guided close — the accounting core of Numen Books.
The Accounting agent is where transactions become a set of books. You record journal entries — with AI help or by hand — watch the trial balance validate in real time, then run depreciation and close the period. Every number is rule-based and ready for audit.

What you can do
- AI-assisted auto journaling — let the AI chat read a document and propose a balanced entry, or write entries manually in a two-column debit/credit layout with a live balance check.
- Review the journal ledger and a pending journal list of AI suggestions awaiting your approval.
- Read the trial balance with real-time validation and export it to CSV.
- Work through a closing checklist to close each period cleanly.
- Run depreciation on a straight-line schedule for your fixed assets.
- Build a manufacturing cost statement with a cost-calculation wizard that allocates overhead, including ABC.
- Import bank transactions and match and reconcile them against your entries.
How to record a journal entry
- 1Open the Accounting agent and confirm the data period and entity shown at the top are the ones you mean to post to.
- 2Either drop a document into the AI chat and let it draft the entry, or choose New entry to write one by hand.
- 3Fill the debit and credit lines with accounts and amounts. The balance chip stays red until debits equal credits.
- 4Post the entry. It lands in the journal ledger and flows straight into the trial balance.
Closing a period
When it's time to close, open the closing checklist. It walks you through the usual steps — reconcile bank accounts, post depreciation, review pending entries, and confirm the trial balance validates — so nothing slips through before you lock the period.
Heads up
The AI drafts entries; it does not post them for you. Every AI suggestion lands in the pending journal for your review — approve it only after you have checked the accounts and that it balances.
